After this morning's events, I decided I was going to create a new blog despite the fact that I deleted my old one. I miss just being able to type out stuff, even though I do the same when I write, but sometimes I don't feel like writing and typing on the laptop is just more convenient most of the time. Anyways, so this is like a new start to my blogging career and semester and everything.
Well Thursday and Friday the campus was closed due to the snow. There is still a ton of snow outside, along with the ice which is always fun. The mayor of Flagstaff declared a State of Emergency, whatever that means. Bookman's, Coldstone, Quiznos, and many other places I'm sure, had their roofs caved in. A lot of the buildings have flat roofs and snow when it snowed a lot, and then rained all day, which didn't melt it but just add to the ice and stuff because then it froze, and then more snow came. It piles up and becomes dangerous, but at least Target survived. It is pretty funny to see everyone slipping and sliding and sometimes falling, even when I did so myself, I just start laughing. I have some pictures I will post later when I get home.
Today started out terrible. I am on the fundraising committee for BSU, so I am responsible for working concession stands at the events here at the skydome and stuff like that. Well yesterday, on Friday, there was supposed to be a track meet and we were going to meet at 12:30 to work, but due to the campus closure Thursday and Friday it was cancelled and moved to today, Saturday. I learned this from an e-mail BSU sent to all its members, it said it was cancelled and moved to today and we were supposed to meet at the dome at 10am. So last night, when I went to sleep at about 3am, I set my alarm. I got up this morning and walked through all the snow and ice all the way to the dome which is on south campus, I live in central campus, but its closer to north campus. There are a couple sets of stairs through the woods on my way, and I slipped and fell down the first set of them, so then I had snow all in my shoes and on my bare skin making it extremely cold. Long story short, I got there and couldn't find anybody, so I texted the girl in charge or whatever and she said it was cancelled. Did they ever send out another e-mail saying this? No. Those people who actually check and read their e-mail just get screwed over I guess. She apologized and said she was trying to pass new along through word of mouth, but I guess I was the only one who was not aware. Everyone else on the committee is all buddy buddy, but they still know I was a part of it because I've worked with them many times last semester. Regardless, I was never told because I never talk to them and they never talk to me because they are so exclusive and make it hard to befriend them, but you would think they could at least let me know. Makes me feel like chopped liver. I'm at ALL of the meetings, on time none the less, missed one football game last semester because I was really sick, and then I get treated like this. Kind of feel like they take advantage of me, but I don't want to say that, but I already did, so whatever. Its not that big of a deal, its just frustrating, but whatever. I'm just being a part of it so I can put it on my resumé.
At least now I have the day free to catch up on homework and reading and such. Currently I am sitting in Starbucks. I had an americano and then put some of the white chocolate powder that my mother sent me in it. It was pretty ghetto, I used an airborne container and all whipped it out of my coat and poured this white powder in my drink, but it worked well!
I really don't feel like doing any school work but I know I need to. Especially for Fragments and Ruins, I hate that class so much, I dread it every Tuesday and Thursday. This semester seems like it will be a bit harder than last semester.
